There are two streams offered by CMT, Mining and Mineral Processing Streams.
Any student who has successfully completed at least two years of engineering or relevant science studies (e.g. geology, earth sciences, environmental sciences) at the Technician, Technologist, or bachelor’s level as well as one university-level Calculus course, one university-level introductory Physics, and one university-level introductory Chemistry course at a recognized institution is eligible for admission to the Certificate in Mining Technologies.
A cumulative average (cumulative GPA) in their program of at least 73% (B average under Queen’s grading scheme).
In exceptional cases, significant and relevant professional experience may provide a basis for flexibility in admissions cut-off.
All international students must meet Queen’s University’s English language requirements.

Cost
Fees for CMT students are calculated based on the credit unit weighting of each course. CMT courses range in unit weight, between 3.0 and 4.5 credit units.
The current cost per credit unit is $238.23 for Domestic students (Ontario) and $848.68 for International students.
For example, current fees for a 3.0 credit course are:
Domestic Students (Ontario) CAD $714.69 International Students CAD $2,546.04 or approximately USD $1,900 as of December 18, 2023. (plus minor fees for exams etc.)
