Global Center on Adaptation

Accelerating climate adaptation globally

About

The Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) is at the forefront of the global response to climate change, dedicated to catalyzing urgent and transformative action to adapt to its impacts. As an international organization established in 2018, GCA operates under a mission to facilitate adaptation solutions both at international and local scales, engaging in a synergistic partnership with both public and private sectors. With its global headquarters uniquely positioned in the world's largest floating office located in Rotterdam, Netherlands, the organization extends its reach through regional offices in Africa, South Asia, and the Asia Pacific, alongside a dedicated knowledge and research hub in Groningen, Netherlands.

GCA's endeavors encompass a broad spectrum of activities aimed at promoting resilient responses to climate change, including high-level policy development, cutting-edge research, advocacy, and strategic communication. By working hand-in-hand with diverse partners, GCA focuses on delivering impactful and efficient outcomes, particularly for those most vulnerable to climate change. Recognizing that the poorest populations in the least developed countries bear the brunt of the climate crisis with the least capacity to adapt, GCA prioritizes measures that address the health, social, and economic challenges posed by climate change, thus serving as a crucial ally in the global fight for a sustainable and resilient future.
